Our Story
ImmerseATL was founded in 2017 by Sarah Hillmer as a training & mentorship program for contemporary dancers.
Born from a desire to shape the whole being, not just the dancer, ImmerseATL’s Artist Program focuses on rigorous training, holistic mentorship, thoughtful networking, and unique performance opportunities. Our Artists are empowered, equipped, and wholly engaged professionals who play a vital part in elevating the Atlanta arts scene and beyond.
In our six years of existence, the Artist Program has mentored 36 Artists and partnered with 50 Educators and Guides. To present, our Artists have performed in 10 unique Atlanta venues, 5 professionally curated festivals and self-produced 11 of their 32 shows.
In 2024, ImmerseATL’s programming grew to include the ImmerseATL Collective, designed to support ImmerseATL’s ever growing network of Alumni in the next phase of their journey.
From our Director’s Heart
ImmerseATL came from my desire to shape the whole being, not just the dancer. I am invested in cultivating creators who are driven by curiosity, shaped by integrity, and propelled by possibility. I am invested in shaping leaders who are forward thinkers, sensitive visionaries, and fearless spirits. I truly believe that individuals who are wholly engaged and focused will push our arts world forward, and it is my heart to build environments that nourishes and drives this forward. The future is created now – it is my pleasure to be a part of shaping it.
