Meet the choreographers
Charlotte Angermeier
Charlotte Angermeier (she/her) is a free lance dance artist based in Atlanta, GA. Currently, she is working with Excavate Body on CRASH TEST, and ImmerseATL Collective. Inspired by wilderness, ferocity, and survival instincts, Charlotte will be devising and researching in Dance Lab to create a new multi media solo work.
Liv Bryant
Liv Bryant (she/her) is an artist, choreographer, and social justice educator from Atlanta, Georgia. Her work is an act of resistance; it explores intersections of her identity rooted in layers of liberation by way of healing--balancing grief, joy, and self discovery. In the Lab Liv is exploring the preliminary stages of research which she will continue in her MFA program in the fall. She toys with improvisational movement, visual art making, and literature.
Carter
Zoë Carter is a queer interdisciplinary choreographer, producer, and creative from Atlanta, Georgia. Their work centers on exploration at the intersection of film, movement, art and fashion with a focus on aerial videography and immersive experiences. Throughout this process, they'll be exploring the concept of revolutionary escapism, asking how manifestation and ancestral connection can lead to change.
Patsy Collins
Patsy Collins is an Atlanta-based choreographer and dancer. In Dance Lab she will be developing choreographic repertoire for future works.
jacqui hinkson
EXCAVATE BODY is a performance and visual arts project founded and directed by Jacqui Hinkson. Utilizing contemporary dance movement, imagery and motifs, visual art elements, and saturated processes of exploring our internal states and drives, EXCAVATE BODY produces work for communal contemplation — not intending to arrive at defined destinations, but laying the ground for further investigation through the viewer with consideration for their own internal mechanisms and humanity.
EXCAVATE BODY is currently in process for CRASH TEST, an evening length performance premiering on May 31st and June 1st at Windmill Arts.
Andie Knudson
Andie Knudson is a dance artist, choreographer, videographer, dance educator, and arts administrator based in Atlanta, GA. Currently, she is working as Assistant Director of EXCAVATE BODY, performing with Fly On A Wall in the Alliance Theatre production of The Curious Cardinal, and traveling to work in residency with Dominic Moore-Dunson on his upcoming project, Remember The Balloons.
In Dance Lab, Andie is continuing the development of a solo practice exploring the personification of doubt.
DevIn latham
I’m Devin Latham a dance artist and teacher who loves queer fantasy novels! I am working on the second experimentation of a full length fantasy based work. Inspired by legends and novels that push gender non conformity, this solo is set in a land where fae, valkyries, and warriors are still reveled. This work also takes inspiration from romantic era ballets fantasy creatures(willies, dryads, shapeshifters etc) while using a contemporary voice. The piece follows a single characters journey in rejecting their feminine fae upbringing and becoming a full blooded warrior.
